About
After spending 10 years as a Park Ranger, Kelly Lewis developed a deep connection with the natural world and its inhabitants. Drawing inspiration from firsthand encounters, she knew she wanted to capture these moments in her art. She draws and paints wild subjects in order to better understand them and their significance in the world. Through her art, she aims to provoke curiosity on the impacts that all living beings have on each other, and what lessons we can learn through further exploration.
Lewis lives and creates in Southern California. Though she is self taught, Lewis credits studying the works and techniques of many great artists of the past as well as several contemporary artists which contributed to the development of her artistic style and voice. She has exhibited in shows throughout California, including the SLOPOKE Western Art Show where she received the People's Choice Award in 2024. Her works are in private collections throughout the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom.
